A sensor has to measure the right thing, not just something that looks like it. It has to sit in the right place, withstand the environment around it, and often run on the same battery for years without anyone touching it. A temperature sensor in a cool office is one thing. We have built many solutions before and can often reuse parts from earlier ones, so you get started quickly and cheaply. How long does IoT product development take?
A well-defined prototype that shows whether the idea holds up can often be ready in a few weeks. The road to a finished product in production is longer and depends on testing, certification and volume. We almost always recommend starting small and building on top.
