We develop custom components and technical solutions for machines, production equipment and automation systems. That can be a sensor, an interface, a control unit, a gateway, a data logger module or a complete electronics and software solution forming part of your machine. What the solutions have in common is that they have to work in an industrial reality, where operational reliability, robustness and integration matter more than clever features.
An important part of our work is getting new components to communicate and work with existing PLCs and automation systems. Many companies already have well-functioning machines, processes and controls. The task is therefore often not to change everything, but to develop a component that fits into the existing setup. It has to be able to send data, receive signals, form part of the control system or provide new functionality without creating unnecessary changes to the machine, the PLC program or the production process.
Data collection, monitoring and Industrial IoT
We have extensive experience with solutions that collect data, monitor operation or feed directly into the control system alongside a PLC. That can be data on temperature, vibration, load, position, flow, operating hours, fault status or other critical parameters. When data becomes available, it can be used for better service, faster fault finding, preventive maintenance or optimisation of the machine's performance.
For many industrial companies, remote monitoring is also an important part of the value. When a machine or component is out at the customer's site, knowing how it performs can be decisive. When should the next service be scheduled? Are there signs of a fault? Can support help the customer without first sending out a technician? And can data over time be used to improve the machine further? Here we can develop connected components and IIoT solutions that give insight into operation and service needs.
Extend the lifetime of existing machines
One particular area is modern replacements for components that are end of life. If a critical component is discontinued, it can create major problems, especially if it forms part of a machine or process that otherwise works well. Instead of redesigning the whole machine, we can develop a 1:1 replacement that fits physically and electrically with the existing solution. The goal is for the component to replace the old one without changes to mechanics, cabling, control or process.
That requires an understanding of electronics, mechanics, signals, software and the industrial context alike. We can analyse the existing component, understand its function and develop a modern replacement with updated components, better availability and the possibility of future production. That way the lifetime of a machine or production line can be extended without unnecessary investment in an entirely new system.
